At Ohio Valley Voices...

Our Silence to Speech campaign is now underway. Click the button below to find out more and donate!

We are an early intervention program that changes the lives of children through technology and professional support.

We transform and empower children who are deaf and hard of hearing by developing their listening and spoken language skills.

We provide unique speech and language therapy to enable children with cochlear implants and hearing aids to communicate fully.

We currently serve only 40% of children who are deaf and hard of hearing in the Greater Cincinnati area. To help us expand our reach, donate to the Silence to Speech campaign now!

We empower parents and extended families to make data-driven choices early in a child’s development, ensuring a lifetime of success.

We offer individualized therapy tailored to the specific needs of each child.

83% of OVV graduates attend college or post-secondary school. You can help more children reach their full potential by donating to Silence to Speech.

We create a fun, caring, language-enriched environment that yields remarkable outcomes.

What We Do

We believe every child who is deaf or hard of hearing has the right to listen and speak. But acquiring spoken communication skills does not happen without effort. For the greatest outcomes, children and parents must begin the process early. OVV’s early intervention program develops these skills through a combination of small group activities, individual instruction and therapy, family education and support.

Parent-Infant Program

Our Parent-Infant Program is an early intervention program for babies, ages 0-16 months old, who have been diagnosed with hearing loss. Sessions are held weekly, both in person and through telepractice. We focus on listening and spoken language development for infants, as well as education, support, and advocacy training for parents and caregivers.

Toddler Program

Our Toddler Program is a center-based intervention program for toddlers, ages 16 months-3 years old. We offer a combination of small group and individual instruction and therapy. The focus is on auditory training, language, and spoken language development. Sessions are held year-round, Monday through Friday 8:15am-12:15pm.

Discovery Center Program

Our Discovery Center Program is an intervention program for preschool children, ages 3-5 years old. We offer a combination of small and large group instruction and therapy. The focus is on developing spoken language skills by practicing syntax, vocabulary, listening, and speaking. Sessions are held year-round Monday through Friday 8:30am-3:30pm.

Learning Center Program

Our Learning Center Program is an intervention program for early elementary school children from kindergarten to second grade. We offer a combination of small and large group instruction and therapy. The focus is on enhancing listening and speaking skills and developing literacy skills. Children spend part of each day learning academic subjects in a traditional classroom setting. Sessions are held Monday through Friday 8:30am-3:30pm.

Audiology Clinic

Ohio Valley Voices provides on-site audiological services to current children and graduates. These include audiological evaluation, speech perception testing, cochlear implant mapping, hearing aid dispensing, fitting, and maintenance. In addition, our resident audiologists regularly check every child's hearing devices to make sure they have good, clear access to sound.

Summer Programs

Our Summer School provides education and therapy during the summer months to help current OVV children continue to close the speech gap. Children spend the first part of each day receiving speech, language, and listening therapy. The remainder of the day is spent engaging in fun and exploratory hands-on activities. The program runs half a day, 5 days a week, for 5 weeks.

Mission Statement

Ohio Valley Voices teaches children who are deaf and hard of hearing to listen and speak.

Vision

Ohio Valley Voices believes that, when given the proper tools, children who are deaf and hard of hearing can have bright futures and reach their full potential.

Impact Statements

“Ohio Valley Voices is founded on principles of compassion and love. It is more than a school—it is a family. The uniqueness of OVV can’t be captured easily in words and must be experienced in person.”

Molly Weber, Associate Director

“The staff at OVV are real-life angels for parents of children with hearing loss. The progress our child has made since starting at OVV has been remarkable and we cannot wait to see where he ends up!"

Nick Van Zile, Parent
